WEB ASSIGNMENT #2

1. The daguerreotype was the first successful photographic process. The surface of this daguerreotype was a mirror, with the image made directly on the silver surface.  After 1839 they were prominent because thats when "photography was born." It replaced the Ambrotype process. 

2. An Albumen print is a method of producing a photographic print on a paper base from a negative. The main ingredient is an egg white. It died out around the 19th century. 


3. A stereogram that is able to convey the experience of depth perception, like looking through binoculars. They started to become popular in 1861 and were popular for decades after. 

4. A Carte De Viste was a type of small photograph which was patented in Paris, France and was usually made of an albumen print. They were made to make cards and get visitors because it was a small size. 

5. Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner were two civil war photographers. They were known for being very good photographers and the first to take pictures of a lot of wars, they started in 1844-45.
